A new educational center is being built on the Kleiner Eutiner See, which integrates a daycare center and traffic training area and blends harmoniously into the surroundings. The school is organized along a central axis that orients noisy activities towards the lake side and quiet learning areas towards the land side. All buildings offer views of the water.
The design envisages three cubic structures that are oriented towards the existing daycare center. The central main building is three-storey and includes shared spaces such as the assembly hall, canteen and library, while the two-storey buildings house the year clusters. A three-court sports hall completes the ensemble and can also be used by clubs.
The buildings are erected as timber frame constructions with vertical timber formwork, allowing them to blend in naturally with the existing trees. An atrium as a light-flooded center promotes exchange and connects all levels. The year clusters are organized around central multi-purpose areas and enable flexible learning with direct access to the outside through generous windows and open structures.
The development is accessed via the Lübsche Koppel with a multifunctional campus square that serves as a schoolyard, event venue and fire department access road. Bicycle and car parking spaces are integrated. The outdoor facilities offer play and sports areas as well as a green park zone with educational and exercise areas.
The sports hall is separately accessible and has a glazed grandstand with a view of the lake. The sustainable timber construction guarantees short construction times, high flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Fire protection measures and barrier-free design have been fully taken into account.
